This Nutella Banana Bread is a tasty twist on a classic favorite. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a snack, it’s a deliciously indulgent treat you’ll love with every bite!
One of my favorite snacks is graham crackers spread with Nutella and topped with banana slices, so I figured Nutella Banana Bread would be right up my alley.
I used my own favorite banana bread recipe from an old Better Homes and Garden cookbook and swirled in the hazelnut spread for a delicious sweet treat!
Ingredients for Nutella Banana Bread
- flour
- baking powder
- baking soda
- cinnamon
- salt
- egg
- ripe bananas
- sugar
- oil
- hazelnut chocolate spread (any brand is fine, but I used Nutella)
Instructions
Grease a loaf pan with butter and sprinkle with sugar. Shake the pan to distribute the sugar along the bottom and up the sides. Set aside.
Combine the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and create a well in the center. Set aside.
Mix the wet ingredients in another bowl until combined (it will be lumpy.)
Pour the wet ingredients into the well of the dry ingredients all at once. Mix together until completely moistened. The batter will be lumpy.
Pour half the batter in to the pan. Drop spoonfuls of Nutella on top of the batter. Use a small knife to swirl the spread into the batter.
Cover with the other half of the batter and drop the remaining Nutella by spoonful on top. Once again, draw a knife through the spread to swirl the chocolate spread and the batter together. Then bake!
Cool and then remove from the pan. The sugared sides of the loaf pan leave a delicious crust around the sides!

Hi Nicole! I love banana bread and the addition of the hazlenut spread and chocolate would be so good. I have some bananas that are ready to go.I can never have enough chocolate!

I never would have thought to mix those two together, but what an inspired idea! Sugaring the bottom of the pan is a great touch, too. It adds a nice additional layer of yumminess. Pinned this for the next time I make banana bread, and have shared it with a relative who ADORES Nutella.
I love your tagline about not pinning unless you are going to try it. 🙂

I’m so glad you used my post for inspiration! The smile is totally adorable! I’ve made a banana bread from an old Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook (it’s one of my all time fav cookbooks, btw) and I loved that one too, so I can only imagine that yours was delicious! As a fellow Pinterest addict, I just followed, like, half of your boards! 🙂

Thanks for following, and thank you for visiting! I don’t hear from my “inspiration” links very often, so I appreciate that you stopped by. I would have tried your recipe for the bread, too, but I didn’t have any buttermilk and didn’t feel like taking the step to make it. 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration!
Lindsey @ American Heritage Cooking says
Of course! No worries about not trying the bread – it was amazing but there are plenty of other delicious banana bread recipes out there and this one was, let’s be honest, all about the nutella! lol! Thanks for linking up…a lot of times “inspiration” post don’t do the courtesy even though I always do 🙂
