Try a delicious twist on a classic favorite with Biscuit Sloppy Joes. The ground beef and savory sauce are baked right into the biscuit dough for a delicious and un-sloppy meal!
Ages ago I saw a commercial (see what I mean by ages ago) for Grands biscuits and these Easy Sloppy Joes were the recipe featured. Now, I have a recipe for delicious Homemade Sloppy Joes, but if you’re looking for something quick and easy (without being messy) then Biscuit Sloppy Joes are for you!
Ingredients needed for Biscuit Sloppy Joes:
- ground beef or turkey
- canned flaky layer biscuits (found in the refrigerated section usually near the eggs and butter)
- canned Sloppy Joe sauce (or buy tomato sauce and a Sloppy Joe seasoning packet OR make your own homemade sauce)
- sliced provolone cheese
Instructions
Start my browning the ground beef or turkey in a skillet and then drain off the grease. Add the sauce to the pan and simmer gently while you prepare the biscuit dough.
On a parchment lined baking sheet, flatten the biscuit dough and spread them enough to add filling and have room for folding over the top.
Add 2-3 tablespoons of filling to one side of each biscuit.
Top the filling with half of a slice of provolone cheese and then fold the remaining biscuit dough up and over the filling. Crimp the edges with a fork to help seal the filling inside.
Bake until golden brown and puffed up (about 15 minutes) and then allow too cool for a few minutes before serving.
What to serve with Unsloppy Joes:
- Green Salad-I like something fresh and crunchy to go along with these Biscuit Sloppy Joes since you’re already getting the meat and bread together in one bite!
- Potato Chips-there’s just something about enjoying a sandwich with some crunchy chips.
- Crockpot Mac and Cheese-when my kids were little I would make a box of mac and cheese to go along with sloppy joes for dinner. This slow cooker version is so delicious and doesn’t take much time to prep.

You really did a great job putting your un-sloppy joes together. They look great! I can only imagine the mess I would make. LOL! Think of all the things you could stuff in there……..what a great base recipe for a large variety of meals. We don’t watch commercials either. We get so frustrated when we actually watch live TV, which is rare. I don’t even know what night most of my favorite shows come on. The one exception is Castle. I watch that show every Monday without fail.

Oh, we love Castle, too! 🙂

Thanks for pinning! And you’re right, the trick is actually remembering to make all these things! 😉
