Experience the delightful chaos of “Everything But the Kitchen Sink” cookies! This recipe blends sweet and salty with chocolate, pretzels, salty roasted peanuts, and more, creating irresistibly delicious cookies.
I love the combination of salty and sweet, especially when it comes to baked goodies like cookies. This year I decided to give the classic Kitchen Sink Cookies a twist and turned them into Christmas Kitchen Sink Cookies.
You can easily swap out the chocolate candies and sprinkles to make these for any holiday. Or just use regular M&M’s for a colorful and fun cookie any time of the year. But I especially love these as Christmas cookies.
Ingredients needed for Christmas Kitchen Sink Cookies:
- all purpose flour
- baking soda
- salt
- butter
- brown sugar
- egg
- vanilla
- M&M’s-swap out the colors for any special occasion
- white baking chips
- pretzel pieces
- peanuts-use salted, roasted peanuts for that extra salty/sweet flavor combo
- red and green sprinkles-or whatever matched the color of the chocolate candies you’re using
Instructions
In a medium mixing bowl, mix together the flour, soda and salt. I usually just use a fork or a whisk for this step.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
After creaming the butter and sugar, add the egg and vanilla and mix well.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet and just mix until combined.
Once the batter is combined, stir in the candies, chips, peanuts and pretzels. Drop by tablespoon onto a parchment lined baking sheet.
Add sprinkles and any additional candies or toppings you’d like to add. Press gently into the batter. Bake for 9 minutes until the edges are set but the middles are still soft. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before removing.
