Seasoned Saltines take this kids’ snack and kick it up a notch with a blast of flavor! Make them spicier with red pepper flakes. Perfect for movie night snaking or watching the game!
If you have little ones in the house, you always have saltine crackers. They make a great cheap snack that even the babies can eat, and they are useful for the inevitable bouts of stomach flu and morning sickness that can plague a young family. But these seasoned saltines are no ordinary crackers! They have been upgraded and made into an adult snack that keeps you going back for more. I halved the recipe because I didn’t want to use our whole box of crackers in case we didn’t like them. No problem there. Even the boys like the punched up flavor.
Seasoned Saltines
- 1 lb unsalted saltine crackers (4 sleeves)
- 1 cup canola oil
- 1 (1 ounce) packet ranch dressing mix
- 2 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Toss ingredients together in a large bowl for several minutes-get them coated completely
Spread on a cookie sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes
Cool and store in an airtight container

Made these tonight! YUM! We didn’t have pepper flakes so I used a little cayenne pepper…definitely added a kick. ๐ Thanks for the yummy snack!

Glad you liked them! We go through a batch very quickly! I make half without the pepper flakes for the boys. ๐

I didn’t think about them that way, but yes, a little bit ๐ Except these have a “kick” from the red pepper flakes: you’ve been warned!

Never thought of this, used to eat saltines with butter all the time when I was a kid. Good idea!
