“Mom, can I have a piece of gum?”
I must hear that question a hundred times a week. The answer is almost always the same.
“I don’t have any pink gum left. Do you want to try mine?”
“NO! It’s too SPICY!”
So, yeah, my kids are pretty big babies when it comes to spicy food. They think peppermint is too spicy. Well, Charlie will tolerate a peppermint candy because he likes the taste, but most gum is too “wintery-fresh” for his palate. So you know what that means? More for me! 🙂 When I go scrolling through Pinterest and find gorgeous desserts like these, I know I don’t have to share them with anyone.
{One Bowl} Mini Thin Mint Donuts
Chocolate Cupcakes with Fluffy Mint Chocolate Chip Buttercream Frosting
It’s the perfect time of year for these Thin Mint Brownies! You can use the candy bars that I did (they usually come out in the summer) or good ol’ Girl Scout cookies. Either way, the crunchy pieces inside these gooey chocolate brownies are a sweet treat!
Here’s another brownie and mint concoction, with the fun addition of green pudding! 🙂 The kids will love this Brownie Mint Trifle (especially if you throw on some Lucky Charms and sprinkles!) That post also includes several more St. Patrick’s Day treats from my blogging friends. Bonus!
White chocolate thin mint popcorn
A Mint OREO shake might not look very pretty, but it tastes delicious. If the Shamrock Shake is a little too minty for your tastes, you’ll probably find this one to be perfect.
I really liked my first year of blogging because it was fun to find all these copycat recipes for seasonal items and try them out. This Copycat Shamrock Shake might not be professionally staged, but it tasted good. 😉
Fudgy Mint Chocolate No-Bake Cookies
So, which one of these minty treats do you think you would like? There’s something both refreshing and velvety about the combination of chocolate and mint. St. Patrick’s Day just gives us an excuse to enjoy green food! 😉
