Heat oven to 375. Mix sugars, oil, vanilla and egg in a medium bowl until smooth.
½ cup granulated sugar, ½ cup brown sugar, ½ cup vegetable oil, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 egg
Stir in the flour, soda, and salt. Mix until a smooth dough is formed.

Divide the dough into 4 sections, place on a large sheet pan and shape each section into a strip about 10” long and 3” wide with at least 1” between each one. Shape the dough so each strip is evenly thick.
Sprinkle each strip with chocolate chips and press down gently.

Bake for 7-9 minutes, until golden brown. Cool for a few minutes and then slice each strip crosswise into 1-2” slices. Allow to cool completely before serving.
Notes
Note: 4 strips will fit well on a large sheet pan, but if you don’t have a pan large enough, simply bake two at a time. You want to have enough room on the pan for the cookies to spread a bit.
