Preheat the oven to 350° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy.
1 cup salted butter, 2/3 cup sugar
Add orange zest and mix until evenly distributed
zest of 1 orange
Add the flour, one cup at a time until well-mixed
2 cups flour
Using a medium cookie scoop (1 1/2-2 Tbsp), place dough on parchment lined cookie sheets. Gently press down in the center to flatten each cookie a bit
Bake at 350° degrees for 9-11 minutes, cool on wire rack.
When cookies are cooled, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 bursts. Stir thoroughly after each time until the chocolate is smooth. Dip the cookies in the melted chocolate or spread over the top of half of each cookie. Smooth with the back of a spoon. Allow the chocolate to cool and harden completely before stacking or storing cookies.
