1/4cupdried apple chunksYou can also use fresh apples, just adjust the cooking time
1 tbspcaramel sauce
In a microwavable bowl, stir together the oats, water, spices and apple chunks.(My grocery store has dried apples in the bulk section or you can make your own with this easy recipe.)
Microwave for 90 seconds. Remove, stir in the caramel and then microwave for 30 more seconds.
Add milk or eat as is!
If your bowl is shallow, you may want to add a small plate underneath it in case of spillage. My regular cereal bowls worked just fine and didn't make a mess. Stopping to stir after 90 seconds also helps avoid bubbling over.To make this recipe clean, simply eliminate the caramel sauce and sweeten with honey or real maple syrup!
